Why will the interlining wrinkle and blister after bonding or washing

DS-shirt interlining

Interlining has been widely used in the production of garments, shoes and hats during the industrial age, it becomes an important raw material for garments, shoes and hats.

Interlining is used for the necklines ,cuffs and fronts of shirt, the waist, pocket opening of trousers, the fronts of the suits, many parts of dresses and coats. The interlining will support ,reinforce and hold the design, makes the garments, shoes and hats achieve comfortable and beautiful effect.

In production practice, people often encounter the interlining and fabric wrinkle or blister on the surface after bonding or washing , it seriously affects the beauty and quality of garments.

To understand why interlining will wrinkle or blister after bonding or washing.

first of all, we should understand the characteristics of interlining material, interlining generally has cotton material, Polyester/cotton material and all chemical fiber material, then coating various chemical binder materials, the chemical binder materials are generally PA,PE,PU,PVC etc. The interlining has stable heat shrinkage and washing shrinkage after bleaching ,dyeing and finalize finishing. The warp and weft direction is generally controlled from -1.5% to -2%. The heat shrinkage and washing shrinkage of fabric are also controlled from -1.5% to -2%, so when interlining and fabric bonding, shrinkage synchronous, that makes the appearance flat.Otherwise, the interlining or fabric will be wrinkle, blending, even blistering.

The second reason is the choice of binder material. PA is resistant to chemical washing and general washing. PES is not resistant to chemical washing but to washing. PE is resistant to chemical washing and general washing.

The third reason is the coating process and the coating production process,it will result in the stripping strength not up to the requirements and wrinkling or blistering phenomenon that the amount of binder applied is insufficient or uneven.

The fourth reason is that the pressing temperature, pressure and time should be adjusted to meet the pressing conditions of interlining. Any one of temperature, pressure and time is not properly controlled, will cause interlining wrinkle or blister after bonding and washing.
